4 months

Well, it's been almost 4 months since I last posted here, and I'll be honest. I've grown detacted from the 40k hobby- I can no longer bring myself to want to play a game.

However, this doesn't mean I have completely abandoned 40k. I started reading the novels and looking at Specialist Games with a keener eye. I mean, I play Necromunda and BFG, but when I was at the Toronto Battle Bunker, I found myself wanting to play Battlefleet Gothic with some of the new kids.

So, I plan on posting more often and slowly working on my Necromunda gang and BFG fleets.

Games Day Canada

I must say I was kinda disappointed at Games Day, however I did get to meet Dan Abnett(who rocks both in person and as a writer), see some really nice Club boards*, and get some Forgeworld Goodies.

The downside is that the FW store didn't have my Cadian Resperator Heads(I asked for them via Email) and there were no open gaming tables. So Graeme and I hoofed it over to the GW Battle Bunker on Yonge and played a game there.

Coming Soon: Lord Commissar, Cadian Forward Recon Troops and The Formation of the 970's.

Well, I failed

I can give you a list of reasons why I was unable to do what I wanted, but I'm just going to blame the Imperial Navy.

I've been working on my Battlefleet Gothic navy for month of April, in an effort to get it done for an upcoming BFG/Apocolypse battle in May. The problem is I haven't any clue what to basecoat my ships. I was going to do Cygnar blue with gold highlights, but since the ships are the older Heresy-era they looked like Tzeentch. I want them to look like the ships may be old, the crews hard-pressed to prove their loyalty, but Emperor-damn them, we are His Divine Imperial Navy. Any suggestions.

The Month of April

is fast approaching and I plan to shift into overdrive for the May 2nd release of the new Imperial Guard codex. I hope to be able to paint at least 1 squad per week, perhaps more.

Oh, and I will be attending Games Day Canada this year, with the 293rd Cadian, and Major Lionus 'Helljumper' Hawkins in his FULL Glory.

Edit: My Command HQ Valkyrie(from ForgeWorld) now has a flying base YAY!!

The Tale of Major Lionus Hawkins, MC, MrC, HI

Name: Hawkins, Lionus
Rank: Major
D-O-B: 960.M41
Place of Birth: Kasyr Lutien, Cadia

Born on Cadia, Lionus is the typical product of that Fortress World.

He, like all Cadians, was able to fieldstrip a lasgun by the age of 5, and conduct gorilla warfare by 10. Upon entering the WhiteShield Corps, Hawkins was appointed as adjunet to the Commissar-Colonel in charge.

By age 16, he was already a Corp. in the Internal Guard, assinged to staff of the legendary Inquisitor Helena Tiber, Ordo Hereticus.

When Inquisitor Tiber was killed in 984.M41, Hawkins was transferred as the Liason officer of the 75th Armageddon Steel Legion, where he served 4 tours. It was during these four tours, that Hawkins came to the attention of the Dark Angels of the Adeptus Astartes.

Because of his association of the late Tiber(who had knowledge of The Fallen), the Dark Angels soon began to track Hawkins. They wanted to know what he knew. Seven times he was captured, taken back to The Rock and interrogate before he somehow managed to escape each time, much to the chargin of the Dark Angel Interrogator-Chaplains.

Following this, Hawkins returend to Cadia, spend sometime teaching at the Military Academy and on the Military Council. In 999.M41, Hawkins was assigned as the Third-In-Command of the recently rotated-home 293rd Cadian Mechanised Infantry Regiment(Drop).

Shortly afterwards, the entire senior staff was involved in an training accident that result in their deaths as well as those for 175 Departmento Munitorium Adepts. Hawkins was promoted to Major and given command of the 293rd.

Five More Days

Until my Shadowsword arrives at THD....drool.

Now, normally, a Drop Troop Company wouldn't have access to any type of heavier equipment, but because the 293rd started as a Chimera-equipped Regiment, they retain their Leman Russ' and Armored Support tanks. How do they get them to the planet you ask?

simple: The Eagle-class Armored Tank Transport, a heavily modified Valkyrie.

My plans for the Eagle

1)Take a plastic Valkyrie
2)Cut away the Troop bay and add two pairs of Vehicle Clamps
3)Paint same color scheme as Valkyrie
